Profhilo® is an exclusive skin remodelling treatment that will give you visible results in just 2 visits. It has been made to contain a unique formulation of Hyaluronic Acid (HA). This is a naturally occurring substance found in our cells that is responsible for maintaining moisture and structure within our skin, which sadly depletes as we age naturally.

So what is PROFHILO?
Profhilo is the first BDDE-free stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) based product for treating skin laxity.
With one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market (64mg / 2ml) it is not only boosting and hydrating the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue.
Profhilo delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetics treatments currently on offer, such as anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and skin peels.
HOW DOES PROFHILO WORK
As a stabilised product Profhilo lasts in the skin around 28 days. During this time the stimulation of 4 different types of collagen and elastin takes place by slow release of HA.
The stimulation results in significant tissue improvement. Therefore we cannot say that Profhilo is a skin booster as it also has a significant tightening / lifting effect on the tissue.
Where is it injected?
WE USE THE BAP TECHNIQUE:
To maximise the diffusion in the malar and sub-malar areas:
- The BAP were specifically chosen in anatomically respective areas
- The dilution phenomenon of the product itself
- 5 injections per side
- Reduced pain (slow injection)
- Lower possibility of bruising or hematoma
- Reduced number of treatment sessions
- Greater patient compliance
Is it painful?
The injections are made superficially into the skin (deep dermis) using a very small needle. The product is slowly injected in 0.2ml deposits taking around 5 seconds per injection. This process can feel quite stingy for some but is over relatively quickly. After injected the treated area can feel a little strange for up to 10 min.
Some people can manage really well with Profhilo using no anaesthetic at all, but if you are nervous and have a particularly low pain threshold then we would recommend getting a longer appointment to have topical anaesthetic placed to improve comfort.
What will it look like straight after?
You will have some redness and swelling straight after the appointment
The injection spots will be fairly raised for around an hour so we would not recommend going out to a fancy lunch meeting straight afterwards
For most people the lumps are completely gone by that evening
For slimmer patients or anyone with prominent cheek bones for example, these lumps may still be slightly visible the next day and could last for up to 5 days
When will I start to see the results?
Most people will notice an instant improvement in their skin during the first week which will continue to improve for 4 weeks until your next procedure.
The optimum results will be seem 4 weeks after your 2nd treatment so 8 weeks after your initial treatment.
At this stage we can consider whether any other treatments are desired. Such as cheek, naso-labial, jaw fillers etc. Having Profhilo before getting these procedures will reduce the severity of the problem area and the amount of filler required to treat if at all.
So how much does PROFHILO cost?
Each treatment costs £250
You will need 2 treatments 4 weeks apart totalling £500 for both

How long will it last?
If this is a one off for a special occasion then you would expect to see the results lasting from 6-18 months
This depends on your lifestyle and skincare routine… so for example someone who smokes, doesn’t drink enough water and doesn’t use anti-ageing skincare isn’t going to have as long lasting results as someone who does.
If you are looking to maintain the results long term, then we would recommend either 2 treatments yearly one month apart or 1 treatment every 6 months, similar to Botox.

IT’S A UNIQUE PRODUCT
There are many characteristics that make Profhilo unique from anything else available on the market right now. There is no BDDE content. It is thermally cross-linked generating stabilised hybrid co-operative complexes of H-HA and L-HA. Despite its high HA content, it has a low inflammatory profile coupled with pro-healing properties backed by clinical studies. To fully understand this new concept in anti-ageing medicine we have to take a look at the technology first.
HOW IS PROFHILO STABILISED
Profhilo is developed by using a patented technology resulting in hybrid cooperative complexes between high molecular weight HA and low molecular HA without the use of any chemical cross-linking compounds. These complexes increase the stability of HA to enzymatic and mechanical degradation.
NAHYCO TECHNOLOGY
Profhilo is not a dermal filler or biorevitaliser – Profhilo has opened up a new injectable category – bioremodeling.
Thermal cross-linking changes the character and behavior of the HA resulting in the formation of co-operative hybrid complexes which modulate the tissues. This is also the explanation for the different biological behavior with respect to H-HA and L-HA alone. One of the main advantages is longevity. Hybrid cooperative complexes have proven to be very stable with natural hyaluronidase (BTH) digestion when compared to H-HA, widely used in biorevitalisation products, or L-HA alone resulting in the long-lasting release and the dual action of the two HA components. This dual action is ideal for remodeling skin laxity.
ADVANTAGES
In Profhilo, L-HA is released slowly from the HA hybrid complexes and therefore does not trigger the first inflammatory cytokines making it very biocompatible. It also increases patient comfort during and after treatment and provides hydration to the skin especially in the epidermis – the Hydro effect.
H-HA in Profhilo provides a stable HA architecture in the dermis. This gives a volumetric effect – the Lift effect.
Another advantage of the stable co-operative hybrid complex when compared to H-HA and L-HA is the increase in the expression levels of type I and type III collagen in fibroblast and type IV and VII collagen in keratinocytes.
This results in improved skin quality and skin hydration both in the dermis and epidermis. There is also increased production of endogenous HA and elastin giving the skin a more youthful look.
